About the Design
The design for the Hatchet Creek Farmhouse is based on a real Western Pennsylvania dwelling built sometime prior to the 1850s. Its style is typical of early American homesteads in the 18th and 19th centuries. Today, the reconstructed building sits on the grounds of the Ulster American Folk Park, one of the national museums of Ireland.
